As mentioned in one of the previous posts, Slax 6 will ship with KDE 3.5.x. Just today I can read from the Slackware changelog that Patrick decided too that KDE 4 is not ready yet, and so KDE 3 will remain also in the next Slackware version. I welcome this news, because that way I can be sure that Slackware won’t drop any KDE3 dependency today, which I need for Slax.
KDE4, as a technology, is really great step forward. But as like in Slax, the technology itself means nothing if there is no way to benefit from it. So unless the current functionality from KDE3 is ported to KDE4 (for all, lets name the ‘configurability’ of kicker), KDE3 is a better (feature-rich) choice, until the version 4.1 is finished.
