Am I reading correctly? Is that statement about Android a mistake? Or was it the Author of the original article who made a massive "typo" right there? I can't imagine why Mozilla Exec Mike Schroepfer ata discussion with deelopers would say something like that. We all know the iPhone is restricted, and according to Mozilla,
Apple has not written a license which allows Firefox to run on the iPhone,
that alone spells doom for Firefox heading to the iPhone.
To say that Android is a closed platform makes no sense whatsoever, Android is under the Apache license, the source code will be released after the first handsets are on the market. I'll surely like to know what Schroepfer considers to be open and what is not. When that comment was allegedly made by Schroepfer, someone in the room should have said something, as a question like why does he speaks such BLASPHEMY. Well I hope he will take back his words and let loose the flaming fox to do battle with Android. [Source: Wired]
