HowTo: Finding What Oracle Products are Certified on SLE

Where can I find…. As usually happens, I get an IM or email with a request for a piece of information and either I have that info in a bookmarked or easily referencable location, or it’s time to put on the derby and become Network Jones and the Lost Files of Wendy.  (If you get that reference, you’re as old as I am and love that cartoonist too…) All nostalgia aside, someone recently asked me a question that before a month ago I would have faked a network connection problem or a heart attack to avoid having to be involved in:  What Oracle products are certified and supported on SLES, all versions. A Brighter Day Before a month or so ago, I wouldn’t have had the outstanding ISV Catalog site from our crack ISV recruitment and support team at Novell, and life would have just sucked as I googled things and called in favors from people to look through their email inboxes and send me links that are long forgotten. Now I just have to go to the  Novell ISV Catalog site and in the Browse or Search dialog I click on the “ISV” link to browse through the list and find Oracle, or just type Oracle into the Search dialog. The catalog returns the selection for Oracle and all I have to do is select the link, and all of the known Oracle products and suites are listed, along with the Novell Platform and version they are supported on, as shown below: image Where Else to Turn There are a couple of other resources I typically rely on that are helpful for this sort of search, one is to look for the pages on Novell.com that might show support for a vendor’s products, such as the Oracle Products on Linux page, which is pretty helpful in it’s own right.  Another thing you might want to use in your triangulation of what products run on what is the  Oracle Certification Matrix, which is similar to our own ISV Catalog in it’s method of leading you through the process. If you know of anything else that was missed, please email me a link to it and I’ll update the article. RossB
