Google Skype merger?

Will Google be joining forces with Skype? Techtree is asking the same question. rumors have been flying around the internet about a possible collaboration between the two, or even a acquisition of Skype by the search giant Google. Right now this will be placed in the rumor mill for now as we sit back and wiat for more information regarding the matter. A Google and Skype acquisition only bring one thing to the mind and that is Google Android, Carriers will be threatened by it most likely because it would bring down revenue. But I wonder if Carriers even know that the future of Telephony is on the internet? Do you?
