Google Chrome

It seems like it’s been a long time since I wrote. This is the next one on Google Chrome, which I got to use when I’d gone back home in this time span. Google Chrome is an Open Source web browser published by no other than Google. Chrome is a new browser, and has excellent visuals, that any user would be aware of. It is available for download for Windows XP and Vista, but unfortunately, not for any other platform. So, we unix people can’t use it as of now. At the time of this writing, it is in its Beta stage. Although it has been regorously worked on, and looks awesome, but it is still new in the scene, and I have personally liked it, not as much as I’ve been in love with Mozilla Firefox. Chrome needs way more development, probably fix many of the bugs that will start popping up in times to come. The reason Google says why they developed Chrome was because there at google, they’d spend most of their time using a web browser. Obviously, having a browser of their own would be a good thing. They even have included in-built security modules for that, which makes it secure, and it is light weight. So, crashing of one tab won’t crash the whole browser. That’s one improvement over firefox though. In the development, Google has taken modules from various Open Source projects like Apple WebKit and Mozilla Firefox. There is even a developer’s community there. And even a blog giving information about (or probably telling how to report) bugs here. About Linux, they’re working to port the browser to Linux, and that should be released as soon as it is done. Till then, I can only wait and see.
