Thanks to the marvels of technology, this strip is partly true: at the moment it goes online I should be in a bus travelling to Brno, the blog engine is supposed to take care of scheduled publishing. Note: last week I received complaints of my webcomic not showing in Google Reader due a style="display: none;" - I swear, it was not my fault, probably the image file name triggered some ad-blockers.

To be honest, initially I wanted another to cover another subject, something with a positive turn after the intrusion (as I think the infrastructure guys deserve a lot of praises) but I wasn't able to come with something clever/insightful about that, so went to the plan B.

A few days ago when the number of pre-registration for the Brno FUDCon reached 100 people (now there are a very few more), it was very inviting to make statistics based on it, even if the sample is not representative and the results wrong... or aren't they?

In the last week I talked a lot about wallpapers so is quite obvious that today's webcomic is about wallpapers, I am so predictable...

It looks like all my webcomic's characters are geeky enough so no one has vacation dreams about sitting on a beach with some fancy drink (with umbrella!) in one hand and surrounded by bikinis....Ops! It seems like I did it again, this time I am driving young males away from Linux...

At first I was tempted to make another [probably better] joke, about how with so few votes we can get a bad name, like "Vista" but it appears that there are some days when I am not that inclined for controversy (right now I am half asleep), so not wanting to leave the wrong impression that I don't like the "Cambridge" name, I went with a safer option...

Have you voted already? If don't, it is the time for me to leave away my pretended impartiality and try to lure people for a certain theme concept: Beyond me acting like a shill, the reality is that the Round 2 is mostly about sub-teams forming inside the Art Team and supporting a concept, it is not a public vote and shilling is not really useful. But I am a shill and must act like one.

I won't comment about "the incident" at this time, there are lots of labels, flames and reactions about it. But I can draw some inspiration from it.

I am not sure, I should be optimistic or pessimistic about that? How about you?

Some of us are Fedora and this is a good thing. Some other people are not Fedora, and that is not necessarily a bad thing.The important thing is that the video kicks ass and I am trying for some time to get hold of a camera and a few local contributors to make a local video about that. In unrelated news, even I am not much into micro-blogging myself, it seems that all the cool kids are doing it, so I have to join the bandwagon.

Much to my shame (one should not talk about elections if he didn't bother to vote), I didn't vote for the Fedora board. Why? I think any of them would do a good job on the board and do not know them enough to say if one or another would do a better or worse job.Also, I am not close enough to anyone to vote him only on a friendship basis (probably that would be equally worse from a democratic point of view).However, voters, candidates, winners: congratulations to all!
