The finalists have been chosen for the Best of TechEd 2008 Developer Awards presented by Penton Medias Windows IT Pro® and SQL Server Magazine®.
One name that made list that we are all familiar with is Telerik's Sitefinity CMS. It was named as one of four finalist for the Developer Tools category.
Telerik is a provider of developer tools and components for .Net. Their Sitefinity CMS product has been designed for the both the developer and the end user. According to Telerik CEO Vassil Terziew, they have worked hard to provide a product that includes a comprehensive development platform for developers, but is still easy to use.
Their hard work seems to have paid off. Still, they are up against some pretty stiff competition including the popular NetAdvantage Suite from .Net Infragistics, Intercept Studio's AVIcode and JNBridgePro's JNBridge.

Sheffield in England is famous for stainless steel and the movie The Full Monty, but you may not have heard of Fooshy. Fooshy? Right.
When I first heard, nay read, the word Fooshy, I swore that somebody must have made it up. But its there in the Urban Dictionary alright, and apparently means sleep, being similar to the sound of snoring. Believe it or not, Fooshy is a actually the moniker attached to a new Web CMS created by Illuminaries (now theres a name I can live with), a software development company based in that city of steel, although Fooshy itself appears to be a separate company.
Telerik, a leading vendor of developer tools and components for .NET, is happy to present Sitefinity CMS v3.2 – a flexible, hassle-free development platform for the construction and management of websites, intranets, and community portals. Sitefinity v3.2 is the succeeding milestone in Telerik’s quest for a feature-rich web development tool with unrivaled usability and compatibility.
“There are many CMS platforms on the market that offer rich functionality for both end user and developers. The comprehensive web development tools, however, always come at the expense of usability. When selecting a CMS, customers usually are up against the trade off “complete vs. user-friendly” platform. We spotted that business opportunity and have been continuously working on providing a comprehensive development platform that does not sacrifice the freedom of both web developers and end-users, yet offers simplicity and ease-of-use” says Vassil Terziev, Telerik CEO. “Sitefinity v3.2 represents a final touch to offering complete content publishing functionality that comes with intuitive user experience”.
