PaperThin Reports Growth, Talks About Future

PaperThin, the producer of ColdFusion-based Web CMS CommonSpot, announced that its 2008 Q2 and Q3 revenues shattered all company records, having grown an average of more than 50% year over year. Furthermore, the company’s average deal size increased by more than 30%. Now, it’s time to update the product, perhaps. And PaperThin plans on doing so in 2009. The last major product release from PaperThin was in October, 2007, when CommonSpot 5.0 came out.

Open Text Maps Out the Future for eDOCS

Nearing the end of its Content World 2008 Conference, Open Text announced new plans for its eDOCS product line that will give customers the flexibility to leverage the latest ECM technology. The plan includes new enhancements for eDOCS, more integrations with the Open Text ECM suite and more play time with Microsoft.

Open Text Content World is Big, Social and Green

Open Text kicked off its global Content World conference today on Orlando, Florida. The ECM giant expects it to be the largest conference in history with more than 1500 participants registered to attend. Pre- and post-conference workshops, breakouts, training, GlobalStar awards, partner schmoozing, showcasing its ECM solutions, Universal Studios trips... Open Text is going to be busy in the next few days. The event features a conference-within-a-conference program.

Enterprise Ain't Going Into the Cloud?

According to Chris Petersen, APAC director of channels at Open Text, it is unlikely that enterprise data will ever go to the cloud due to regulatory issues and bandwidth costs. In a recent interview with ZDNet Asia, Petersen gave his outlook on the enterprise future in the cloud. Despite the fact that many and many more companies warm up towards cloud computing, Petersen insists the organizations will continue to store a large part of data in-house and demand on-premise software.

Enterprise CMS Socialism: Documentum Supports CMIS

Are you tired of hearing of this draft CMIS thing yet? Content management software companies aren't. No rest until everyone comes up with something CMIS-compliant. Most recently, EMC released an updated CMIS-compliant version of its Documentum ECM platform. CMIS is still in the draft, pre-born stage, but everyone wants a piece of it. Reminds us of the SharePoint saga, only MOSS is already bearing lotsa $$$ behind it. In CMIS case, it's all about interoperability and inter-CMS-ial, inter-repositorial camaraderie.

ECM Provider Clearview Gets Cozier with SharePoint

Being that Clearview Enterprise Content Management is, as they say, the first SharePoint-based solution, we think they rock pretty hard. Well, in the world of Microsoft at least. And now, not even six months since we last reported an upgrade to Clearview ECM, they’ve gone and released version 5.0 (more rockage). The release offers lots of exciting changes and new features, including a new Business Process Management module and compatibility with Kofax 8.0.

Open Text Heads Into the Windows Azure Cloud

Enterprise content management provider Open Text has announced a "first-of-its-kind" records management and archiving capability for Microsoft’s new cloud-based operating system Windows Azure.
