Mandriva has unveiled the release schedule and technical specifications for its next release, Mandriva Linux 2009. The first alpha is due on June 25th, and the final release in early October. Take a look and see what new features you can expect to find on your desktop when the final release is available.

Review: Mandriva Linux 2008 Spring

Last month Mandriva announced its latest Spring edition. Despite a few minor glitches, after several weeks of testing the two Mandriva flavors, I have finally come across a distro that gives you the best of the GNU/Linux and proprietary worlds in terms of ease of use, range of software, and stability on hardware that ranges from old Celerons to newer multi-core machines.

Just like the KDE and GNOME versions of One, this is an installable live CD edition of Mandriva Linux 2008 Spring, but this time featuring Xfce as the desktop environment.
