Fedora Weekly Webcomic: No punchline

Thanks to the marvels of technology, this strip is partly true: at the moment it goes online I should be in a bus travelling to Brno, the blog engine is supposed to take care of scheduled publishing. Note: last week I received complaints of my webcomic not showing in Google Reader due a style="display: none;" - I swear, it was not my fault, probably the image file name triggered some ad-blockers.

For the unfortunates...

Following a request on #fedora-art I did this blog button (no worry, I am still going), so use it if you feel like:

Fedora 10 themes Round 2

The second round in the process of creating a visual theme for Fedora 10 ended yesterday, those are the proposals meeting the requirement and which will pass into the third (last) round (listed in chronological order): Gears Neon InvinXible

Going to FUDCon

The First Meet-up of the Art Team As both Martin and me will be present, we probably will pompously claim the first meet-up of the Fedora Art Team (Mo suggested the title): probably the first time when two active members of the Art Team will be in the same room, so join us if you are interested, this will take place most likely Saturday and we plan to keep a session about Fedora Art (F-10 themes, Echo, Nodoka, Art Team in general). Me and the hackfest

Fedora Weekly Webcomic: Advertising

To be honest, initially I wanted another to cover another subject, something with a positive turn after the intrusion (as I think the infrastructure guys deserve a lot of praises) but I wasn't able to come with something clever/insightful about that, so went to the plan B.

Fedora Weekly Webcomic: Stats and samples

A few days ago when the number of pre-registration for the Brno FUDCon reached 100 people (now there are a very few more), it was very inviting to make statistics based on it, even if the sample is not representative and the results wrong... or aren't they?

Fedora Weekly Webcomic: Wallpapers

In the last week I talked a lot about wallpapers so is quite obvious that today's webcomic is about wallpapers, I am so predictable...

Build and they will come - the wallpaper gallery

It may be a bit early for that, but our Fedora Extras Wallpaper Gallery is starting to look like a success story. And not necessarily because in a few days we gathered an important number of images or because that some of those are not bad at all, the most important part is, I think, that we provide a new and easy way to contribute. Some people may want to contribute somehow, but they are not coders so can't involve in development, are not good English writers to contribute to documentation, have no large experience with graphic software and are afraid to contribute to Art and so on, or just maybe not enough free time.

A wallpaper gallery

Do you felt a need for more wallpapers (colorful, vivid, photographic) for your Fedora desktop? Or maybe you wanted to contribute yourself a self made beautiful photo which is suitable as a wallpaper and share it with the rest of the community? Well, we thought it is an useful thing to have, so Martin took the initiative and create a simple extra wallpaper gallery inside the wiki, with the main purpose of being a place from where is easy to hand pick the best images for a package but also as a gallery open for everyone and quickly me and Vara uploaded a few photos, to get the ball rolling.

My Fedora Weekly Webcomic: Steampunk

Have you voted already? If don't, it is the time for me to leave away my pretended impartiality and try to lure people for a certain theme concept: Beyond me acting like a shill, the reality is that the Round 2 is mostly about sub-teams forming inside the Art Team and supporting a concept, it is not a public vote and shilling is not really useful. But I am a shill and must act like one.

Fedora 10 themes - round 1

The first round for proposing theme concepts for Fedora 10 has ended. Before commenting, please keep in mind that the purpose of this round was to gather concepts, unfinished sketches, so do not expect polished images, use your imagination to extrapolate where they can be driven (with your feedback). This is partly why I use such small thumbnails, to make the reader follow the links, read more and see more.
