Since a few weeks i was trying to figure out a websites which offer work to Freelancers working in the area of graphic designing, websites development and programming. For the information of my readers, these websites are usually marketplaces wherein project owners and providers interact, bid and get the stuff done and thereby earn money. After having done some research, i feel its time that i write about them. Below is the list of 5 websites i feel you ( as a freelancer/ provider/ project owner) must register with. 1.) Ram Shriram, Founding board member of Google and also the founder of Sherpalo Ventures is always a pleasure to listen to. Ram was one of the early investors in Google and therefore is also termed as the Warren Buffet of Internet Business. In one of the recent interviews to CNBC-TV18, Ram Shriram had the following advice for budding entrepreneurs.

It was definitely a good meetup yesterday,16th March 2008 Sunday. A group of close to 50+ people turned up for the Open Coffee Club meet at CoreObjects. As known the agenda for this meet was centered around OpenCommune and NEN Startup Jobs. Venkat Ramana, C.E.O of Outsmart360 started with his talk on OpenCommune and the idea/inspiration behind it. He went on to discuss the existing gaps in the present office space ecosystem. Venkat has been working on the idea of OpenCommune since sometime now and it was great to hear him replying back to some interesting questions passed on by the fellow members. Below are some of the questions raised by the group:

If you are an entrepreneur or a freelancer who is fed up of working at home or at a coffee shop and need access to real business infrastructure, you should find this really interesting. OpenCommune is a movement to create cafe-like community/collaboration space within a shared office environment for entrepreneurs and freelancers – via the coworking model. They are a proud part of the Coworking movement around the world and actively support it. What is Coworking? Start with a shared office and add cafe culture. Which is the opposite of most modern cafes and ofcourse most offices.

The main concern many people have had with the meets is the absence of logging mechanism @ OCC. Addressing this concern, we have launched the bangalore occ blog which shall be used as a blogging board for :

• Important announcements with regards to the OCC meets.

• Will also give the new members a one stop shop for all there queries with regards to OCC and also the motivation behind it.

During the last OCC meet held on 3rd Feb, we discussed about lots of things regarding betterment of OCC and one of the point discussed was regarding the timelines for publishing of dates and venue for next OCC meets. Going ahead, OCC venue and timings shall always be published minimum 7 days before the actual meet giving enough time for interested OCC members to plan.
