One of the entries in the launchpad competition today was Sun Microsystem’s Project SocialSite. It’s part of the larger Glassfish project, and uses Apache Shindig as an OpenSocial container - they demo’d OpenSocial widgets running inside Drupal and MediaWiki - all running inside a Java Application Server. One of the sessions I attended at the Enterprise 2.0 conference yesterday here in Boston was Thomas Vander Wal (the man who coined the term “folksonomy”) talking about how to manage the flood of information that social bookmarking and other forms of tagging can result in. Ignite is an O’Reilly Media sponsored series of events in various cities around the US.
